1934 Mauser Banner K 94179

[Hercules]

Here is a 1934 Banner K 94179. It is in pretty nice condition and all matching. No Diamond with serial number and a fairly late one. Has a stock takedown disc. This is the first one of these we have owned. Kind of a neat rifle.

Wicked Banner K! Was the take down disk factory or a later update?

From what I have gathered from vol 1 the take down disk was factory on these. Why collectors called them a Banner K.

Gorgeous rifle! Those Banner Ks were made to an exceptional standard and this one perfectly exemplifies that. Now you're making me want a nice DRP Mauser in addition to a S/42 K98k.

I was talking to another member on here and they mentioned this is the highest known matching Banner K. The other higher known and confirmed is 94777. It is a stock mis-match. Kind of interesting. Appreciate any other information I can get.

From your pictures and opening post noting "factory matching" - is it factory matching as noted by Nivarna with the firing pin and extractor stamped with a "76"? Should they not be stamped "79" to be a fully matching rifle?

Now I see. Live and learn. It seems to show what you mean with the upside down punch in the bolt shroud where he punched it twice to correct the initial error.

Could be a Gewehr to K98k conversion, or a Mauser Banner K in service. But those grasping groves on the stock are the big give away. Only info is the picture is dated 1942. At first you think it might be a Gew98m, but look how the barrel bands and sling are as well.

Great Banner K Brian! I've got a similar one fairly close in SN (mine is lower SN) These late unattributed/no organizational cartouche ones are really neat.
