1939 rifle, help please

Hello my friends, first post on the forum. Thanks for letting me join. I just bought my first Mauser K98k, from what I can tell it matches except the bolt. Wondering if everything is correct or not. I know the sling is a reproduction. 20220120_123552.jpgPSX_20220120_142020.jpgPSX_20220120_142030.jpgPSX_20220120_142040.jpgPSX_20220120_142051.jpgPSX_20220120_142104.jpgPSX_20220120_142115.jpgPSX_20220120_142124.jpgPSX_20220120_142135.jpgPSX_20220120_142146.jpg
I hear about Russian captures and thought this might be one but i also heard Russian captures are all mismatched ? Not really sure what I have here, any help with Identification and its history would be very much appreciated
All the best

Ahh bugger, I thought it looked smooth, thanks for that. Are the stocks matched to the rifle ? I know stocks can be expensive, but i would think about replacing it if it didn't stuff up any matching numbers, cheers

The stocks were matching yes. Looks like a fairly typical bolt mismatch rifle. Good for a first rifle. Hopefully you didn't pay too much though.

Stock was originally supposed to match, Take it apart, it’s serial. Unnerved in the barrel
Channel if the external number is sanded away.

Thanks for the replies ! Not sure if I paid to much, I am in Australia and they are few and far between, the all matching ones I see, (although I have no idea what I am looking at !) Go for $3500 and up, way out of my budget atm. This one came up for just under $1000 US, from the numbers in the photos I thought it looked matching beside the bolt. I wasn't in the market for one but have always wanted one so when this came up I jumped on it. I guess I will keep the stock on if it matches and possibly give it a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil to get it looking better if that's the thing ?
Thanks to all again for the great information, it's much appreciated
Cheers

I would leave the stock alone! Not bad at all. I see it came with a cleaning rod. Often missing on these guns. Nice you scored one.

You should have a look at the serial number below the handguard if it is matching. It is laminate, while the stock is walnut.
