Can you drop a 98k into a vz24 stock. My German made Chinese contract Mauser has a vz 24 bolt. The rifle operates smoothly and shoots well. It also has a very decent stock that I would like to take off and preserve

short answer, yes, not sure about hand guard style on chinese rifle? does it have a lip on the rear sight, like a K98k?
if chinese hg is the long clip type, then no worries.

The whole rife is a 98k.. German made. The only thing not 98k is the vz24 bolt. Am I on the right track

yes the Vz stock will work, but the Vz hand guard won’t. your rear sight base has a lip to hold the short hand guard, this would prevent the Vz hg from sitting down as it must, unless you carve a big groove in the underside for the lip. the Vz lower band is closer to the rear sight than a K98k, so the band shoulders are in different places.

If you were just setting it up for hunting, you don’t need a hg or bands, just some way to secure the sling in the front.

what about a used Israeli stock? everything would fit, but has finger grooves like a Standardmodell.

Thanks you just made my decision easier...I'll keep it the way it is. Really appreciate it
