Cleaning binoculars?

Well, since I am now priced out of k98s, that leaves more funds for other stuff. The ordinance tan cag dienstglas is my latest. It came in a red bakelite case with a 44 dated belt strap. One of the oculars is cloudy inside. I'm tempted to have it cleaned so I can actually use them. On the other hand, I have plenty of other binoculars to use, both new and old.
So best to leave it alone? Do these have a collector following that values originality and shuns any modification; including opening and cleaning binocular optics?
Thanks.
