DEW FG42 Clone?

Saw this on gun broker the other day:
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/938981551

AFAIK the only modern FG series rifles were made by SMG from Texas and SSD from Germany. Never heard this maker DEW. Anyone have more information on the maker, and perhaps the rifles themselves? How would they stack up against an SMG or SSD?

Any reason why its priced similarly in the ballpark of an original one too??

Ridiculous price, in my opinion. I believe I will stick with SMG.

Thanks for the post, interesting.

For sure smg is the way to go still. Seems like these DEW guns had issues with the others produced “2 of the 3 had blemish issues” and sticky action on this one? Sounds like trouble, especially when one can get an SMG.

Because the person selling it is a fool.

I noticed that they changed a line in the description of the listing from "There are no aluminum or pot metal pieces on this gun like the SMG clones" to "There are no aluminum or pot metal pieces on this gun." AFAIK the only cast piece on the SMG FG-42 of note was the bipod, right? At least that's the only one I've read of having issues. You could pay someone to custom machine a bipod for the price difference lol...
