I "won" one recently, frustrated with the long wait for my Type 1 in 8mm. This thing is beautiful. I took it to the range and it functioned well but the cases started ejecting only a couple or three feet away near the end of the session.

Yes, I still want my Type 1 as soon as Rick finishes it.

Imagine being the guy that backed out of buying it for 5k. 15k is an absolute silly price to pay for something that can be bought for half that with just a bit of patience.

I think it's
A. Because Rick listed it himself.
B. Forgotten weapons has done none stop FG42 videos lately.
C. The wait time currently seems to be 2-3 years. For someone that's well off, what's an extra $8000 to get what you want vs waiting?

I hope he gets $20,000+ for it.
There's a type 1 currently listed at $9000.

Are the type 1 rifles not as popular as the type 2?

I agree, Rick listing it is the number one factor.

I bought mine with a few rounds through it and in .308 but in basically new condition and mine cost less than half of the current bid on the type 2.

I am curious which one Rick gets more orders for, type 1 or type 2. I love them both but I ordered type 1 because in my mind it is more iconic. Maybe its just in my mind though, lol.
 
Wonder if Rick ever going to send out another email with updates for those who have actually ordered from him instead of boosting his auctions

There are three FG42s on auction right now. Two type 2 and one type 1.

Rick's is relisted and is at $6025 right now.
 
Also, Forgotten Weapons posted a new video a few days ago where Ian shoots and compares the SMG Types 1 and 2.

I really enjoyed it. Great video quality also. I can't wait for my Type 1 to compare in person.

He likes the looks and coolness of the Type 1 best (as I do), but much prefers the Type 2 to shoot.

So some asshole dealer bid it up with no intention of paying and basically screwed Rick of all the advertising he did for that auction.

Yea, there was an NR bidding it up too. Lots of people like that on gunbroker. It's re-listed and now at $8k with 2 days left.

I know Rick is a nice dude but I really hope he drops some negative feedback on that jagoff.
 
Rick does a great job. I own 3 of his creations 2 in 8mm, a Type 1 and a Type 2. My 3rd is a Type 2 in .308 . It is the most reliable because of the modified M14 magazines it uses.
