FN 1943 Hi Power

Looking into this Hi Power. This has always been a "one day" type of handgun for me. I figured I'd eventually get one, but one has come up locally and I'd like to get info about these types of pistols. Can any of the experts weigh in and tell me what to look for, and if everything checks out with this one? Not necessarily something I have the funds for right now, but I can beg borrow and steal depending on what it's worth and if everything looks "correct."

I look forward to what knowledge you all can share with me!

To me, the rig looks good. Pistol looks correct. Of course you can not be too sure about the inscription inside. SS use certainly possible. Let’s see what others say.

I'm nowhere near an expert on these but would agree with biggymu in that the pistol looks good and correct in terms of original finish. The holster provenance I'm unsure of but I believe the rig in general looks good. Try comparing against the one in the picture reference thread.

Looks like a nice pistol. The bore is kinda bad but these used corrosive ammo, so not unheard of thing to have happened. The holster is pretty well used but looks like a decent really used example. These pistols were known for SS connection use as they were issued pistols from non-standard sources, such as the occupied factories like FN and others. The standard sources were all diverted to the military. The written information in the holster flap is not the best of sources or provenance as to where this pistol came from because anyone could have done this to enhance the price tag or whatever their motive was. But, it definitely could have been period done. It's just not something to hang your hat on as verification. These pistols have been going up A LOT in value lately. Not sure what the drive is. I spent a fortune on two super late b block rigs, but they were really nice and I wanted them before the price tags really shot up too much. This one is probably a $2300 dollar or a little less pistol. Just my guess.

Here's my two. One came as a rig and the other I'm looking for a nice holster and extra mag for. The really late one does not have the military proof stamps, only the e/S stamps.
