Gew98 to K98 Conversion

1903 Amberg Gewehr 98 that has appears to have been converted into the K98K configuration. From what I can tell all serial numbers appear to match and the bolt and stock (albeit heavily sanded) appear original Gew98 parts.

Based on the grasping gooves on the stock and the acceptance marks on the Bolt/Barrel both appear to have been replaced at some point. Possibly through a depot, which could be supported by the re-numbering on the trigger guard. However, I did not see any evidence of a depot marks on the butt plate.

A non-SS Gew98 to K98 conversion is rather rare so finding any reference material or other rifles to compare to is rather difficult. As there is no dedicated section in the books and the one conversion in the picture references section has lost some of its pictures.

I tried to get the best pictures of where markings are, or should be, and can probably take more pictures tonight of the rifle if needed.

Hate to break it to you, but this rifle is heavily faked - fake bolt numbers, barrel, stock and other serial numbers.
I appreciate the input, I had a feeling this was the case but not enough experience to say for certain. Knew I was taking a gamble on this rifle and it looks like I lost.
