So I picked this up at an auction there the other day and I was looking for info on what the history of this could be and if it was all just some custom gunsmithing job. Its all imperial marks as far as and the manufacturer on the reciever looks like spandau 1904 but has been ground down. The barrel measures out the same as k98 length but I haven't seen Weimar marks. I would appreciate any help or opinions on this!

Barrel sn seems to match the receiver. Never seen a rear sight sn in that location..

Looks like pipe wrench marks on the barrel just in front of the receiver that indicate the barrel was removed. Barrel shortened and muzzle diameter has then been machine smaller to accept front sight. Seems like a basement job to me.

if this modification had been done by official sources in the Weimar era, no way the rollercoaster sight would remain.
i would suggest:
Spain
Interarms
bubba
in that order.

It looks better done than the typical Interarms chop job, but would agree with the others.
