Hey everyone. New from NY

Hey guys. I have been collecting all kinds of rifles for a few years now but have always had a thing for German k98s. I want to share one that I picked up recently solely because it was an AX 1940. Who else here has one? From what I was told this rifle was imported from Ethiopia with a shot out barrel. Previous owner thought it was better to swap out for another German one. Other than that I don't know much about it. The floor plate in a (phosphate finish?), screws and trigger guard aren't numbered and I'm guessing are not original to the rifle. Bolt is matching to itself. Stock, butt plate, front barrel band and bayonet lug somehow still match the s/n. Sling was an extra that I had laying around and put on for quick pictures.
