Hey guys I could use the following crisp image of that type of stock marking for part of the Mauser chapter. We are looking for any mid-1937 S/42 1937 production that has the
Nazi eagle pre-service acceptance stamp.

Stephen I borrowed an image you posted. This would be prefect but the resolution is just too low.

Thanks.

1937 acceptance stamp

Hi Bruce:
This is from an "e" suffix. Hope this helps.
Will take more pics if you want.

The first image is the one I need with higher resolution and if possible, no glare spot.
This is going in the book so a crisp well lit image is important.

Bob if we can get it, your rifle wil be perfect. You will be credited.

So first, up your resolution and try and get more uniform lighting.
Suggest outdoors as wood shoots good outside.

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce:
I'll take some shots outdoors tomorrow, hope
they turn out O.K. I know, my photography doesn't "rock".
Tks,
Bob

This one is a backbone so i'm not sure if you can use it.

S/42

Arch this will do as well. No problem with the Backbone overlap.
We are trying to limit that, but a very small percentage we cant help.

Bob if you are listening, looks like Archie took his images outside.
Like I mentioned before, wood captures nicely outdoors.

TA - love that gun. Real character there.

Bruce, if this helps, please use as needed.

Well, stop carving TA on yours! (TA was the pornographic division of the Wehrmacht - I'll leave T&A up to your imagination) :)

Ahhhhhh, Nazi strippers with K98's as props... ahhhhhh....

H service mark.

Yep it was like buying a car in the 60s and early 70s. You could get almost any option.
That service mark cost an extra .5RM per gun to have it certified.

Yea and if you believe that then I am the good fairy.

All kidding aside, the service acceptance stamp (E/H, E/L, and later E/M) did not enter application until later in 1937 production as evidenced by the differences in the rifles
posted by Denny and Arch. The E/H and E/L generally will correllate with a given serial range in 1937 Mauser production (likely the 'r' block or earlier). I have not developed the material for the other makers, but its likely that patterns could exist there as well with the application of the E/H and E/L.
