K98 243 Kriegsmarine

Well-known member
I have just bought this K98. a 243 Kriegsmarine from 1940.
I haven't seen it with my own eys or hands yet, looks overall to be a decent rifle, should be all matching, except the bolt and magazine follower.
The takedown disc is only marked WaA 26 and not inventory marked, how common is that?
Off course, once again I'm far away from my books.
Looking forward to bring it home some later.

Well mine is marked the same way but I can't tell you how common it is compared to fleet marked ones. Looks like another nice piece. Is that just a scratch or gouge on the keel making the suffix c look like a g perhaps?

well, it is suffix g rifle, so it make sense that the suffix on the keel looks like a g, or do I misunderstand something 🙃
No, you're fine. I'm the one who fouled that up. Saw the c on the bolt (m/m as you said) and had a brain fart. I see the barreled action is in fact a g block. Duhh I should know better than to post before I have my coffee.

very nice.. Mauser Berlin had a sizable KM contract in 40/41 and some are fleet marked and some are not. The ar41 I had was just marked with N on the disc no ID #

Thanks for the nice words, from the pictures but also from what I was told from the seller (I know him well) it should be in a nice condition, sad that it's mm, but I kind got use to find k98 like that, many K98 in Denmark is like that as the bolt often was removed when they was handed over. Looking forward to get my hands on in, so I can have a proper look at it. Not sure but believe it's the 3rd Kriegsmarine k98 that I buy, not sure at all how many k98 I have in total, they keep breeding.
