Hello!
I thought it could be nice to share my favorite patronenkisten 41 I have in my display. Both produced by "brc", "Fritz Weber & Co, Berlin" in late-early 44-45 with a flat top lid, issued without leather tabs. One has the later configuration and the dunkelgelb finish, the other one has a schwarz grau finish which is less common, unfortunately the marking has been enhanced and oil stains give a brownish aspect. The tan one was found in the Nordwind sector, Eastern France, not far from Colmar in a small town named Guebwiller. The ammo box retains blood splatter, reminder of the violent fightings that occurred in that area during the winter of 1944-45. The story and whereabouts of the darker one is unknown.
