Lucky find?

So I stopped into an antique store outside my area. Found a couple of things. Looks like a late war mp44 bolt ,op rod and recoil spring. Bolt is blued with no serial number. Waffen37 and a large M are the only markings. Oprod is numbered and is phosphate finished. Both look unissued minimal cycling wear. Gave 400 for the lot. Are guys still buying original parts to replace the crappy parts in the mp44 repops? I’d post pics if I could. If you would like to see pics let me know and no not for sale at this time. I have been on the fence about buying one of the new mp44’s and thought these could be handy.

Yes, original parts are very desirable.

Your spare parts are probably as desirable to owners of original MP44's as the problematic first run of import 200 or so crapola guns.

I keep a spare bolt/op rod, firing pin extractor and springs with my Haenel gun.

Bolt is a great catch. 800-1K
Op rods are desirable 500-1K
Springs are springs, still 100 or so.

Do original parts work in the new Mp44 guns. I’d figure they would be different so as to sell parts for their guns as things wear.

That is sad. To answer your question yes the parts should “fit.” For this reason new mfg parts also fit original rifles.

Many people used original bolts and op-rods in PTR-44’s due to the heat treating issue. However since that is fixed I see no practical reason to risk original parts in a semiautomatic only reproduction.
