Looks terrific - what great metal work!

Would take a little more work and that mag, other than being a tad wide, could also be made to look like an MP44 too.

Here are some photos from before I found out about DK productions I was trying to make the lower trigger housing with a billet piece of aluminum I 3-D printed the patterns for a wood router if my memory serves me correctly it was about six patterns to make what you see on the side and five for the interior.View attachment 329520View attachment 329521
This is fantastic. What perseverance. Are you a machinist by trade? I guess it’s like finishing a AR lower. Very impressive

Super cool. Who cares what caliber it is… I mean you designed and machined it from start to finish it’s a labor of love that you’ll always cherish. As, such you’re gonna take it out and shoot and enjoy the shite out of it every time. who has $$$$ to buy 8mm Kurtz these day with ammo costing what it does? I don’t and I suspect a lot of others don’t either. At least the amount of rounds this beauty deserves, no, DEMANDS to have run through it.

Bravo.

This is a work of art. The AR gas tube routed through the plug is ingenious. The way you have adapted and overcome the obstacles is a cool to see. Thank you for the pictures

The more you post the more intrigued I become. I'm moderately advanced in AutoCAD however I'm just starting to teach myself Fusion 360 and inventor, as such, i like to reverse engineer things and then draw them in CAD.

Did you start with a legit MP44 parts kit and then use repo parts finally completing your build with custom manufactured parts, you designed and milled, to complete the conversion to 556?

What parts are original, what repo parts did you purchase and what parts did you design and fabricate to convert to 556?

I assume you had to modify the reciever to accept the AR bolt?

Besides the above questions I also have, did you use the stock trunnion and spin a blank in 5.56 to match the profile of the MP44 barrel?

It kind of looks like you used a standard AR ejection port cover, shortening and bending it. Also looks like some custom work in the trigger box area. No 'buffer' as would normally be found in an AR, but rather just a custom cup and the recoil spring?
