Picked Up Two Helmets at The Local Gun Show

At the last local Gun Show I was setup at a person I met in 2019 who was walking around with a Luft camo helmet for show and tell stop at my table and wanted to know if I was still interested in his helmet, he had decided to sell the Luft camo he had showed me before and also a Heer helmet, we came to an agreement on price and I went home with two great helmets for my collection, here are some pictures of the M40 SD Luftwaffe camo helmet and the M35 DD Heer helmet with a gray overpaint.

The FP Nr. in the grsy helmet comes back to the Festungs-Bau-Battailon 82 (and later Festungs-Pioneer-Bataillon 9) stationed in France. The unit appears to be disbanded in June 1944, and I imagine it was involved with construction of fortifications along the Atlantic Wall. Paint certainly matches up.

Really nice acquisitions! I especially like the brushed on texture of the Heer. Both of course are brushed on, but I like the look of that heavier texture.
 
Excellent acquisition... to find two super camo helmets in 2021 is awesome... enjoy them - they are really nice examples!!!!
