Sadly sporterized but luckily the metal hasn't been touched (except for the two front bands and bayonet lug). I do not know why someone would go to so much work to sporterize a rifle in such a minimalistic fashion. Really? - Three piece inlay for the sling cut out???? Maybe lost 4 oz's of weight?
Luckily I can probably pop out the inlays, find the hardware and splice the end of the stock (splice will be hidden under the front band/bayonet lug - so it doesn't even need to be pretty).
For $300 CDN - you cannot complain and a project on a scarce or rare rifle is always fun.
One question is why have a straight bolt but the inlet for a bent bolt handle? Originally I thought this was because the bolt was MM, but then looking at other examples (not many on the internet) almost all these rifles seem to have a straight bolt handle with an inlet for a bent bolt?
