Hello guys, I'm pretty new to collecting mausers. I took a chance on one of the Ethiopian K98's from RTI when they went on "sale" for a shooter. When I was taking it out of the stock to clean it and look for any serious problems I found this stamp under the barrel Infront of the receiver. Does anyone know what it is? I can't find it anywhere.

That's a dot over 11 in a shield is their mark for a barrel finished 'in house'. Steyr also used a shield like this. The KU is the steel lot number for quality control and tracking purposes. Overall this is know among us as the barrel code.
