Hello mnguy62,

It is what it is: a Volksturm Soldbuch, there isn't much to tell.
He was a 52 year old farmer that lived in a hamlet Klein Gußborn and was a member of the Volksturm unit in his district (Dannenberg), they guarded a section of the Elbe together with 1/Lds Btl 739, there he witnessed the big retreat across the Elbe river.

Cheers,
Peter

PS: they got his name wrong on the "laissez passer", perhaps they used his middle name, just an administrative mistake.

Thanks Peter - very appreciated! Wish these things could talk. If you don't mind could you tell me what "1/Lds Btl 739" was. Thanks again!
