Good call. I was going to say 4 or very late '43. I did not realize how early the radial tool marks showed up on the cocking piece or how early they went to only the supplier code l only on the bottom of the root. Question though, what does the finish on the shroud look like? Some early phosphate wash? It certainly doesn't look blued to my eye.
