Wow! It looks like it might be all matching? Enough of the serial on the scabbard is blocked but it appears to be. Condition looks excellent and I love the frog! Vienna 1938. Nice Jack.

Yes it matches. Did the Army use brown frogs besides the luftwaffe?

HArd to explain, but the way I do it is slide the frog all the way up, and using something thin and flat, like either a screwdriver, or a popsicle stick, and carefully insert it over the lug, and under the top part of the frog through the lug hole, and gently and carefully slide the frog down, so it rides up and over the screwdriver and over the lug, which will allow you to slide it down after you pull the screwdriver out...

And nice bayonet and frog!

It is hard to explain but this is well stated. This is the technique that I use as well. Sometimes I leave the "wedging device" in place for a day or two in order to stretch the material out a bit. On some tight fitting examples you may have to do this gradually and more than once to create enough space to slide the leather over the face of the hanging hook. The same methods can be used for web frogs as well. Patience is the key in order to avoid damaging the frog.

Love your frog jack944. Many of the Luftwaffe frogs are finished in a darker almost chocolate brown color. Brown frogs were also used by the police; some marked, others not and often in a lighter shade. And as the war progressed, natural colored brown frogs were used by all branches of the Wehrmacht. It became less important to dye or finish the frogs in black. Some examples can also be encountered that are only black finish to the front, with the reverse being left in natural brown.

It could be a police frog, as from this maker are confirmed, i would compare the long hook on leather with similar of Polizei SG. I would assume there would be a LBA stamp on LW frog in that period. b.r.Andy
PS.As looking on the shades on frog in hook area, it looks like there was M95 or Vz.24 scabbard, with flat hook ending cylindrical, to this would correspond rectangular shape of hole in lower part.
