Pre-SOS buy. Actually the trip netted the Chinese contract so even though I missed the SOS, still worth the drive for that rifle. Duffle cut vet bringback, undinked with. Interesting rack number stamped on the bolt and buttplate.

kkw

Bruce, this is a very scare marked rifle.. As I said over the phone.. You didnt mention the school marking. I can only agree this is a rack marking on the bolt and buttplate. So when these were taken down to be cleaned the bolts could be kept with the rifles.Maybe the school applied these numbers. I feel if this one went to the show it would of sold without much trouble. I have yet to see one marked this way. Bob has an Apenland mauser kkw I think.

I wanted to upright the photo...these letters were not hand applied.. This is a made up stamp as it flows to even.. I can only assume others were marked this way. As I said this is the first ive seen..

That's the first SA school marked trainer I've seen...

First one for me too Denny. And what makes it more interesting is that this school was not recognized in the list of SA-Gruppenschulen prepared by for the SHAEF report on the SA in 1944.
