I kind of like the looks of grinding up some old bakelite and mixing it with epoxy or some other resin (maybe Brownells Acragls). Kind of like making your own wood filler with sawdust and wood glue. The trick will be finding out what bonds best with the original Durofol.
I'm curious who Pitfighter is sending hes handguard to to get it repaired. I;m certainly willing to give it a try but if someone is already out there with the skills and techniques then I would gladly pay them to get it right.
What is the best way to repair a Durofol handguard that is missing both rear ears? Is there anyone out there already doing this type of repair?

I was getting something from the face if the closet and pulled out this G.41 barreled receiver I got long ago and was curious what the hole at the front of the receiver might be. It isn’t threaded and I don’t recall seeing it on other G.41’s. Any ideas?
Is the firing pin in the MP44 supposed to have some slight tension on it from where the extractor spring arm goes through its slot in the bolt or should it be entirely free floating. It seems like the extractor spring arm is putting the slightest bit of pressure if the firing pin so it isn’t...
