Late war k98 bayonet , single WaA519

I just acquired this piece recently. It’s a marked K98 ,unmarked, with the exception of a single WaA519 stamped on the ricasso. I’ve seen bayos that had a single 519 stamp peeking out from under the rear of the flash guard but never one like this. Has anyone else ever encountered one?

It would be nice to see complete blade, this additional marking of WaA519 was reported by various makers in late 1943 and early 1944 probably, from the color of pommel i dont believe this is a postwar refurbishment, more real a blanko piece, converted from army production, it could be too a Eickhorn, Hoerster or WKC, most real there was removed the maker code. Scabbard was black painted.

there is no mounting screw in the scabard, you need to check whether there is a threading in the hole ?

Hi Andy,
here are the pics you requested of the full blade. Bert f. The screw hole is threaded just missing the screw.

Yes sometimes is this missinterpreted as 518, anyway it could be damaged stamp but 518 is not confirmed by Solingen probably.
Thanks for picture i would personally tend to WKC or Hoerster here.

There is NOTHING post-war renovated on this bayonet. Great piece.

It could be from any one of several late war makers. Would need to see the blade blank stamps with grips removed as well as the markings on the "hidden" flats of the locking lug bolt to identify for sure.
