    Actually shooting your rifles

I’ve sold my only, beautiful, matching S42, because the previous owner tinkered with the trigger, ruining a hardened surface_ I was against changing or rehardenig the part, because that, inside my twisted mind, would be utterly contaminating/bastardizing the rifle_ When, with it, I won a Yugo...

    muzzle stuff ...

The Italian translation for mufflers is "8yrs. of prison", therefore you can better understand my envy_ said that, I think that lead-reduced charges should make wonders with these outfits: I've enjoyed for years gas-checked 175 and 200 grs. lead w. a really soft charge of Vihtavuori N 140...

    An inherited Mauser 22. LR

...perfect_ Germany has a long history of production of rings and mounts for 11mm. dovetails_ Anschutz/AHG accessories, EAW, (both quite costly), etc., down to the cheapest solutions (UTG conversion bases, to adapt any standard picatinny ring to 11mm. dovetails) available in Europe from China...

    An inherited Mauser 22. LR

I'm the last wheel on the knowledge wagon, but I suspect that your dovetail could be wide more or less 11 mm._ in this case, it could be in the same class of the dovetails of the Anschutz rimfire rifles_ and the same rings/mounts/etc., original or aftermarket...

    long knives

Amberg, thank you very much ! I would never suppose this kind of origin_ by the way, I'm quite astonished that isn't coming from some ancient German heritage_ Anyway, sincerely thanks for your interest and your help_ (this question was more difficult than obtain a picture of the gas-burner...

    Looking for First K98k

here sometime have appeared post-war CZs_ mint condition,I would say straight from the factory or some depot._ laminated stocks quite carefully inletted for the action_ often some flaws on the outside machining_ some specimen with wrongly machined striker's hole (not round, quite oval), very low...

    front sight tool

mine was in my possession well before e-bay market, but I fully agree_ by the way, at today, I have a box full of adjusters, but I've never found a really good one, (coyote-proof), to work on my K98 front sights without EXTREME care_

    front sight tool

gift from an ol'timer (not a Vet)_ I'm quite puzzled because it's working quite poorly: not ineffective, but seemly quite underengineered, IF original, under German standards : w/out a third hand, the tool tend to rotate, damaging or slipping away from the surface engaged _ (maybe am I...)_ any...

    Mauser Trouble Shooting

I've had a commemorative k98k where the few solder, if any, under the rear sight base, was gone _ I can guarantee that the centering screw has only the function of indexing the base, and isn't enough to stop the rotation under recoil_ of course, when not firing, the rifle seemed good..._ some...

Post War German 98k manufacture in the 80's -90's??

yes_ on mine, the action seemed a reworked/reconditioned part_ new barrel, new stock _

Post War German 98k manufacture in the 80's -90's??

seemingly beautiful, well done, but poor quality control: mine lacked of the inner rear steel tube, inside the stock, where the rear action screw must pass _ the front sight base was poorly soldered, if any, and was rotating after some use _ branded "Original Mauser", in two version: early style...
