For those of us interested in the old stuff.

Got two paper clippings concerning the 1866 war.

Lohr, June 15th 1867
Yesterday morning about 1,800 hundredweight of guns, including 20,000 rifles of different patterns, several thousands of infantry and cavalry sabers, yatagans, pistols etc. arrived here on four big boats. Mr. Rexroth, owner of the correspondent steel company (the company still exists) had bought these weapons. The weapons were destroyed by the fire on the fortress Marienburg (Würzburg ) during the fights last year. Numerousness people were watching the disembarkation. The onlookers did not refrain remarks as well as bitter criticism about our last year warfare.
June 18th
Mr. Rexroth is planning an exhibition with many interesting and worth seeing creations of the burned weapons. He will donate the entrance fees in favors of the disabled ones of the war.

That is a neat piece of history.

I know next to nothing about this war, well that isn't fair, I know nothing about this war, but this little tidbit makes you want to look in to it more!

Thanks!
At least now we know where all the old Bavarian guns ended up. At Rexroth's melting pot!
