1916 Erfurt Kar98a from the Alabama humper auction

Took a chance. Here’s the result. Our friend went at the stock pretty good and “corrected” the safety. Bolt shroud too perhaps? Stock has a repaired duffle cut under rear band which is solid. Any interesting nuggets welcome.

Came with this sling which I believe is Weimar era?

I'd say you did pretty good. It's a pretty decent 98a wartime and presents well .

This guy clearly didn't like anything MM on his guns. (let's call the prior owner Humphrey, since he liked to hump stuff)

I'm glad a few of us here did ok. Jordan and I may have list the bet, but small blips on otherwise great years fir both of us.

Yeah I've already replaced most of them on the Oberspree some I had matched the rifle or were really close. Still need a bolt body though

The c/R is legit, it’s from an Amberg, likely early war. The number on the other side though, not so much.
