1936 K98k & 1941/2 Weapons Manuals

gergnotwen

Rest In Peace
I have an opportunity to acquire two "original" manuals, first one a 1936 K98 training manual and a 1942 weapons infantry manual. Any thoughts on authenticity or value on these? Don't see them show up very often and would make an nice addition to a collection but I am not a document expert by any means. Appreciate any comments!

I'am not very familiar with these kind of publications but from what I can see on the scaned images it looks OK, a period original; but of course I can't feel the quality of the paper.
Be ware because these manuals have been reprinted post war; fakers like to add stamps to make them look original.
A good test would be holding the pages underneeth a blacklight lamp, old paper should not shine back at you.
As to value; I have no clue, simply because I don't collect these kind of booklets.

Cheers,
Peter

I agree, I think both are good. I have the Infantry 2a manual in my library.
I also have a Gew 98 manual similar to the K98k manual only dated earlier. I'd gladly trade it for a 98k manual.

The instruction for the infantry is a very imported (or most?) manual for the hole German army. All branch of service need it. The evolution of this manual is a long story.

I don’t think, the exemplar from gergnotwen is a imitation, because you can find the original H.Dv 130/2a very often.

The abbreviation is A.V.I. (Alfa Victor India) = Ausbildungsvorschrift für die Infanterie.

In the Reichswehr period exist only six manual in the 130 number group.

Later from the Wehrmacht period it is difficult to get all of the H.Dv. 130/… for collectors.

The redaction 1942 is the latest, you see it above.
