1940 cqh

Picked up some things this past weekend and this was one of the items. Due to poor storage, it's kind of a roach, but it's the only cqh that I have at this time. It'll do until I find a better one.

certainly a good piece, the scabbard was woried, and possible little damaged surface under frog? Anyway a matching piece of switch year.

Very interesting code marking variant. It seems to follow the pattern for the first P Weyersberg code of "crs" with a underscore, over 40 (sans the quotations around the code). Since 1940 was the transitional year, looks like the blade was already stamped with the "40" date on the spine. Thus only the cqh code and underscore were stamped on the bayonet's ricasso. Seems plausible if the bayonet had not been previously dated on the spine, the marking on the ricasso would be like that on the scabbard...making for another variant to look out for.
