219_Zipper from Rochester, NY -- Hello to all

Hello to all in the forum. I found this site while researching a gun that I have had in my safe for 20 years.
I was given the gun from an Old Timer that lived down the street just before he died. I do not know how many years he had the gun prior to giving it to me, at least 5 but probably longer than that as I know he made mention of other guys who really liked the gun.
Anyway, after some research it looks to me to be a KAR 98 in the 219 caliber. I think most of the numbers match, but I have read that someone could have forged them.
So here I am trying to figure out more about the gun, value etc.

This is my first post and introduction, so if I need to put more info and pictures in a different place I will do that shortly....doing this while the turkey is in the over and before the family shows up!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all, looking forward to hearing your opinions on this gun.

Never saw a K98 in 219 zipper! If you can post some photos we may be able to tell you what you have. This is one of my fathers favorite calibers, that and 218 bee, but he collects old Winchesters.

Couple pics....not the best

Here are a couple pics. I think you can make out the KAR 98 on the receiver if you look closely.

The forge mark is on the left side of the gun ahead of the KAR 98 and behind the 219, it does not look like some of the others I have seen from NAZI guns, so I'm not sure if someone might be able to tell me what this mark means.

Also on right side of the gun there are 3 marks, two of which look identical. Wondering what they mean as well.
