AR 42 bolt m/m

Could not pass this one up. 1942 AR bolt m/m. Band spring does not match and neither does the cleaning rod. Stock looks like it has had a coat of varnish put on it a long time ago. No import marks.

Will get pics of the complete rifle later, but here are some close ups of various markings.

Just on my phone so it's hard to see photos. But a 42 dated rifle with H hand and flat butt plate?

What kind of receiver is it? Does it have acceptance on the right receiver? This falls within the Walther range, - it is also near several transition points for MB, including when they dropped external serialing.

Hey Loewe, can you elaborate a little on the "MB"?

There is a 359 eagle on the right side of the receiver, so I'm guessing Walther made it?

Sorry for the newbie question, but in your title you have "M/M". What does that mean? Mitchell Mauser?

It means "bolt MisMatch", in other words, typical "bring bracks" will either have a bolt that matches the receiver serial number, or, it seems more commonly, with a bolt mismatch, where the bolt serial numbers match itself, and, the receiver will match everything else excluding the bolt.

MB = Mauser Borsigwalde, Berlin. The factory that made your rifle. E/359 indicates a Walther made or walther area made receiver.

All I can offer is a RC AR42 Zf-41.

Serial: 8230 i on receiver only

Barrel code: ar over -4-, then 42 cyw

Receiver 1x e/359

Rear sight: 2x e/26

Sorry, thought this was another information request post!

Nice dual maker rifle with the Walther receiver.
You might leverage a really good trade with the Steyr M12/34 (or G29o) bolt that came with the rifle.
