AC43 G41 Restoration Project

Here's my restoration project, I am going to get the holes in the booster cone filled, I have no idea why the alteration was done to it, but someone thought it needed a retaining ring (held in place by an allen screw). All matching w/ what is there. I am going to have some bands fabricated for this from another rifle I have, and am going to see if I can have a local machine shop that does awesome work fabricate some Magazines (as I have a need for those on my other G41 rifle (s) ). I may have additional parts made up as unit cost goes down as quantity goes up. I may also have an op rod manufactured for another rifle off the one I have on this rifle. Every G41 I've picked up has been missing parts, or been altered in one way or another, I'm figuring the demand for parts is steady, although there are already other sources for repro parts, I'm going to see what I can come up with that is cost effective. Chris...

G41 project

So, for this one....
1) Both bands
2) Bandsprings
3) Stock and HG
4) Repair of the booster cone

I'll fabricate (have fabricated) some parts for this, and some parts from this (primarily magazine well/assembly) and follower for my other G41 that needs parts. Depending upon the unit price of the parts when they go up in quantity I may have extra parts made, and some Operating rods as well if they price out right....Chris..

I'm still scratching my head as to why someone felt they needed to fabricate a little locking ring shoulder for the booster cone??? Oh well...

G41 restoration....

Was wondering if anyone had a trashed K98 laminated stock / sportered/ junked that would have a nice section of wood on the top that would serve as a donor piece to splice in a repair on this stock, I want to do a repair on this section of the stock, I've got the front section taken care of if I can just get this back part fixed. I'd like to restore the original stock as it is serialed to the rifle. Chris... I'm in process of making front and rear bands on this, and the bayonet lug assembly as well. Thanks, Chris... If on the off chance someone has a thrashed stock send me a PM of what you have.

Chris, I'm curious, were you able finish your G41 project? Did you end up making your own metal parts? Some pictures would be great. I was thinking about the holes in the muzzle cone, maybe together with the ring it was an attempt at restricting the gas pressure in the cycling system by controlling the amount of blow by.

I've got everything fabbed up, just need to find the time to finish welding them up....made front bands, and made rear bands by altering some foreign contract Mauser bands that were very similar to the G41 bands, just lacking a large enough opening-which they now have. Good thought on the muzzle cone holes, makes sense... Chris.... Hopefully I'll find some time here in the next couple weeks and get them finished up, will post some pics.
