Dear friends, here's my plain jane K98 BYF43 from FRANCE. It's a "E" block.
It's an all matching except the bolt, which I guess was made by ERMA.

The rifle was found as is, it was hidden under a sink.

I find it interesting that it's a bolt m/m and wonder how it came to be so. I'd think most German Soldiers would be too anal to grab the wrong bolt but who knows?
 
French Resistance captured maybe
No, it is sure that it wasn't a resistance capture. My place saw heavy fighting between American troops and German troops in november 1944. It was in occupied Elsass-Lothringen. No resistance there unfortunately.
 
Nice to see another e block in walnut! Under the sink is an odd place to hide one but curious about the bolt mismatch. My e block in walnut also appears issued but managed to stay matching though most other e blocks that survive today appear to have been unissued or very lightly used.
