Got these in a group today and figured it was worth posting.
Real nice C. Riese frog dated Berlin 1941 and a cof44 'w' block that looks like it was finished by a 10 year old.
The blade is one of the crudest I have encountered with almost no flatness to the blade edge.

Gott'a love that braising all around the frog stud boss! Those end-of-life (for Eickhorn) pieces do have that "corn-cob" look. The C Riese 41 frog just makes it all the sweeter...

I agree with you all. I've really come to love and appreciate those late pieces. They just have 'the end' written all over them.

It amazes me that the Germans were still making bayonets right up to the end (or close to it) with all of the material and manpower shortages they had to be enduring.
The Waffenampt Officer had to know it ( bayonet production ,if not the war) was a lost cause, but carried on. That is a commitment to duty although the quality is some what diminished from the early years.
Great bayonet and frog. Thanks for sharing.
