what you have is a G24t Overall it looks nice.. get some kroil on the metal asap.. Leave the wood alone other than a quick wipe down with lemon oil or balistol or just leave it be for now.
if done properly this rifle would wake right up IMHO.. good closet found gun.

Thank you . So as for price wise ..what's fair don't want overpay but he's freind don't want rip him off

It looks like it will clean up very nicely. But “clean” does not mean you should use steel wool, sandpaper, or a wire brush. There are lots of posts here from experts describing what to do with rifles in this condition. You should read through those before you do anything other than what mauser99 said.

Yes all numbers match he just sent me bad pics
Man that is EXACTLY how i like to find them. Untouched and crusty! Dust dating back to the Eisenhower Administration!

Condition is everything, but thats a very desirable rifle. $1500 ++ IMHO if ALL matching. And that's not retail.

that's a very nice example..German long guns in high condition and matching are over inflated right now. So whats fare on either end is a debate in itself. 1500.00 if he would accept is cheap IMHO but, what you offer and what he accepts is between you two. That rifle cleaned up properly and marketed properly could realize over 3k on the open market. Being in Walnut is a real treat and ads value as well.

Want to say thanks for the response all.. so I put an offer out there. Waiting for his decision ..if want I'll post better pics if all goes my way..again ty for the helping the newbie
