Is this Kar98k a good find?

I’m in the market for a Kar98k and want something somewhat matching that is good to shoot but also good as a collection piece. I came across this one and was wondering if it is a good find.

Removed auction link.

I would recommend removing the active link and taking some screencaps instead. It's against the forum rules to post links to an active auction. To answer your question though, I would walk on that one. There are better examples to be had for less.

Sorry I missed that guideline. It won’t happen again.

I have low knowledge on the kar98 platform. Is there a reason it’s not? I know the stock is probably not original but what else makes it not worth the money?

If CanAR says it ain’t I’d bet money it ain’t. Post some screenshots.

No I believe I just want to know what to look out for next time, I really am just genuinely curious as to what makes a Kar98k worth the money and what determines/how to determine the value. And I will in a minute.

Could be a post war yugo k98k stock. Solid wood, with flat buttplates were produced post war to replace the broken stocks on there pile of "captured" k98k rifles left over in the country. This rifle was most likely "restored" here in the states, and this was the cheapest replacement stock they could find.

John.

That would be my guess too. Post war Yugoslav made replacement stock.
