K98 Bayo... with differant tip

Hello All,
Sorry don't have pic's of this piece yet but I have a K98 bayo with a partial circular portion intentionally removed from the upper edge of the blade - starting at the tip????
Looks like it was done a long time ago and done very neatly.
Anyone ever seen one like this and does anyone know why it might have been done?
I'll try and post some pic's soon.
If memory serves me this is also a North Sea marked piece.

The blade should have a normal tip, the lenght should be about 254mm, it could be reworked by Norwegian or other country postwar, but without seing a photo hard to say.
