K98 - Double SS Rune Real or Fake?

Hey all,

Just reaching out to get a expert opinion on my buddies K98. I was only so helpful up to a point but:

We are aware it is basically a complete mismatch. But he is wondering the authenticity on the SS Runes - I am aware they are faked very often and or I think I seen that MM has them on there k98s, but I hope someone with a more train eye could tell us if its real or fake. I feel skeptical its not real. I also notice the different front sight attachment - like the Portuguese k98.

I am aware of the ballpark range on complete mismatch k98 prices - but what would it be worth if it is somehow a legit Double SS rune marked and mismatched?

Terrible Frankenberry fake...

For future reference, totenkopf markings were never stamped on regular production K98k's, they were stamped on SS depot Gew 98 to K98k conversion guns.
