I have the option to buy this sling. Please advise if this is an original WW2 German sling? I don't see any markings on the sling.
Thanks a lot for the reply

ask seller for clear picture of the outside of the sling (top grain side) it isn’t shown in any of the pics. I’m looking to see of it has ‘ricasso’ lines (cross hatching) or not, that may not disqualify it, but might suggest non-German origin, as in Norwegian. (not all original German slings were cross-hatched, but a vast majority were) .

Glad you mentioned that Muncher. My sling on my 40 Borsigwalde does not have cross -hatched as I have noticed on many others. L&F buckle on mine.

There are non-crosshatched slings used by the Germans in WW2. Sure there are post-war issued slings without that feature, but some wartime slings did not have that feature.
Definitely late-war issued without the pattern, but some mid-war as well.

As likely original WWII German as not. Could also be post-war Norwegian or Austrian. Would certainly be appropriate paired with a mid- to late-war 98K.
