I am on the verge to buy a k98k Byf 1944 double claw but i am not really sure about the authenticity of the gun.
The optic number doesnt match the rifle and i am not really sure about the wood but apart of that i cant really tell if the rifle is legit or not.
The seller wants some big bucks so i came here to ask your opinion.
Thanks.

Are you able to post them in a larger size? They are really miniature and I can't tell a single stamp.

While I do think that the size is better, actually I do not have a good feeling about this rifle. Most of these were based on bnz SS contract rifles, there are only little non-bnz rifles. The location on these is pretty uniform too, on this rifle it is very unusual and I would consider this concerning.

i dont really have much knowledge but other people told me that this type of rifles were made only in 1942-1943 and this is a 1944.
Do you think that the stamps were placed there afterwards also the optic number doesnt match the rifle.

Oh yeah, I thought so that we have already seen it, but it was poorly visible in these new pictures and couldn‘t find the old pictures.

I could really use that scope and mounts for my original rifle. I need one with the ocular focus.

The same store is trying to sell three other sniper rifles.
Two short rail sniper rifle and a ZF.39 turret i dont know if this are originals or fakes.

Poor little rifle… someone decided it needed to be “trans-itioned” into something that it’s not. All the pain and suffering it will go through never to be whole again. Henceforth you will be known as “Darth Tranny”.

All that being said, there are a lot of guys whom would go for such a rifle from the reproduction, "I could never afford a original", shooter-side of the house. I have a put-together bcd 44 LSR for when I want to scratch that itch... and leave the collector pieces alone. Would be interesting to know how well the SSG pictured by the O.P. performs with some good ammo...

The main problem is that the rifle is not going for cheap.
Stating the rifle as "original"

No problem with that. But please then do not buy ugly a$$ Polish stamps and use them on rifles because this is not for shooting but for faking and as here trying to pass something on as original.
