Anybody collect Luftwaffe swords that may know the value of one? Or any info for that matter? It’s marked to the Zeugamt in Rotenburg.

I agree with Ron. More photos needed to give an honest assessment. At least its an early one in nickel silver and unit marked.

the Aluminum variants barely break 800.00 anymore. I actually just bought a nickel silver 1st mod. Luft the swords little bro ~~!!!

If the leather is all intact I would have to say at least 1200.00 Blade looks a little spotty ??

A dime a dozen

From what I see, $800 - $1100 tops. ..and the scabbard leather should be nice, no tears or missing patches.

I'm going to try to get some pics. Scabbard leather is good, similar condition to the handle. Question - are most of these attributed to a unit, i.e. with unit markings?

No, not really. It is a nice addition when they do have them though. Ones that can be traced to a more famous unit can command higher prices (just like in any collectibles).
Mine is attributed to a signal school (marked on scabbard throat, crossguard and back of hanger. The shoulder boards are for the unit.]
The other one is not marked to a unit.
Both have the WAA so that means they were unit property and most likely issued when an NCO needed a sword for ceremonial purposes.

Unit markings

Maybe 30% with unit markings, famous units commanding a few more dollars. More importantly to me is the condition of the blade. The blade on this one looks a bit dodgy, maybe just a bad photo?

As far as pricing Listen to Jon. He collects swords and is more in tune with current pricing. Of course when buying something for yourself you want to get
the best deal possible. Not to over pay or paying retail.. This seems to be more of a problem now as everyone seems to self appraise by doing internet search and finding insane dealer pricing.

This swords are quite common.

I like the early ones in nickel silver. I bought a 2 nd model a while back for $100 at an auction, wound up selling it for $550 to a dealer. It was cleaned I think and the gold wash was gone off of the swaztika.

Ok, finally had time to take some additional pics. Can’t decide if I really have to have it, it’s priced at $1000.

Not the best pics. Would like to see non glare pics of the blade and better ones of the scabbard leather, but from what I see, the price is not out of line for early silver pieces. I would offer 850-950 if I were buying.

It’s super hard to get non glare photos. Here’s some of the worst areas, the blade is actually nice, I bet you could clean it up a lot too.

The blade looks like it has some pitting on the Eickhorn logo, or just a bad photo?
If it’s pitted you will have a tough time selling it down the road. Offer 750 - 850 imho.

Thanks John. If anyone is interested in this I’m going to pass just because I’m obviously not a sword collector. He’s asking $1000 for it, just PM me.
