You’ll need way more photos of the overall rifle for a proper assessment, but it’s a 1942 J.P. Sauer & Son produced rifle. By the provided photos, we can only tell the trigger guard matches. It looks to be in rough shape, perhaps stored somewhere for a long time.

It is a block e and the slanted CE usually indicates a Walther receiver (check the Waffenamt stamp 359).

There's a block c in the pic sticky: http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?1739-New-Member-Here-Needs-Help-With-CE-42-Some-Questions

If you have want to know when the stock/handguard has probably been made, remove the handguard and send a pic of the code on the inside.

Here is my CE 42 block m: http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?41938-My-Sauer-CE-42-block-m

If you want some good advice about "cleaning" (controversial matter), check out Hambone's answer in this thread:

Cheers!

Both the metal and the stock look to be in pretty bad shape. I see pitting on the receiver ring. The gap between the trigger guard and stock is huge and the other gaps I can see are quite large too. Maybe stored somewhere warm and humid?
