Here are pictures of my G33/40 dot dated 1942. It was obtained pretty long ago. I am pretty sure it was refinished based the shiny appearance. I was aware of this when I got it but it was all matching and looked correct. At least I was pretty sure it is except for maybe the cleaning rod. It there are issues, please let me know. I was given a lot of incorrect information on this rifle over the years and one or two visits to this forum corrected that. A few "experts" told me the plate on the but stock was so horse mounted troops would not let the spurs gouge in the stock when clicking their heals during a solute. Yeah. I always looked for pictures of the rifle in the field with the troops and really enjoyed finding such on this forum. I never have shot this rifle. I had a VZ 24 that I enjoyed verse the perceived beating I would take form this short rifle 8mm Mauser.
