I recently purchased an all-matching serial number Mauser Kar98K. Sort of fell into my lap. Brought it up to a hunting buddy of my dads that I was looking for a Mauser 8mm. He said he has always had his father's rifle that he took from a German capture in WW2. It is a right handed bolt, and he happens to be a left handed shooter, so never used the gun. He brought it up the next weekend and I bought it on the spot. Couldn't be happier! It is in great condition, Just order a new sight hood and front barrel spring. Only downside is that scope mounts were drilled into the top, but can't be too disappointed.
The waffenamts indicate that the rifle was quality tested and built in 1940, in Oberndorf, by Mauser.
Cheers
