I believe the larger holster is for a flare pistol, but I might be mistaken...Anyone else notice the two handguns on the soldier holding the binoculars above?
Andy, thanks as always for the keen observations; post updated! There are not only Vz24 rifles, Police in shooting is holding Vz.23 rifle, same as the group of soldiers had a Gew98b rifles probably not Vz24.
I was wondering if it was a Wz29?No problem, the nr.3 from left by soldier cleaning of rifle, could be teoretically too Gew33/40 as have recess for bented bolt, but i dont see details there.
why?Photo #3 removed
Because it was pointed out not to be a Vz.24 or G.24(t) rifle. As the thread is concerned with only those model rifles it would not make sense to include it here and could possibly cause confusion for other users researching the topic.why?
Thanks HB, glad I could contribute to this great thread. I have been a fan of the 24s since purchasing a CR Block Romanian Contract example about 10 years ago and it really amazes me how they get passed over. Still hunting for a G.24(t)! Once you know what to look for it's amazing how many are hiding in plain sight within photographs you've seen for years.Great pics Komet, Tks. Interesting to see Vz.24s in unmodified condition used with frontline troops, early war, but up to Barbarossa.
I think you are right, might have jumped the gun on this one. I cannot see a screw mount on the rear barrel band now that I look closer...Might be. I'm not seeing the details on the right side of the rear barrel band I'd expect from a Vz.24, so I'm kind of leaning more M1924 Yugoslav or M1930 Greek.
