T-14, 2 matched mags (Aug 1943)

Well, there's no T-14 in the ref. section so here's one for consideration. In 1943, (18 date) only two factories remained in production.
  • Kokubunji: Was still strawing there small parts, and never simplified their cocking piece. Only 6000 units made in '43.
  • Toriimatsu: No straw, 46,500 units made 5.7X more than Kokubunji (1943)
This example:
  • Kokubunji gun, unissued, with no wear on the bolt face, and v. light drag marks on the primary mag. 18.8 date.
    • Parts numbered: mags, sear, cocking piece, bolt, safety, mag release, mag safety, frame, trigger, trigger group, barrel
      • Parts strawed are bold above + firing pin extension + mag spring + perhaps grip screws
  • 2nd mag is paper/grease wrapped to include the spare firing pin.
    • Less than 5 T-14 mags are known still in their paper wrap. All wrapped mags are orphaned except this one. No other paper wrapped mag is known to be associated with a gun.
  • So, a completely matched T-14 w/ 2 mags & spare pin, from the factory gun, & holster + tool

Really nice rig Bob, thanks for posting. I wonder if it was ever issued? Between condition and mag in original wrapping about as nice as you could hope to find. Any markings on the inside of the grips? I know Kokubunji didn't typically number the grips but I've read they pencil marked them sometimes.

Hi Nick.... grips are unnumbered on this example, though some indeed are pencil numbered. These are correctly inspected internally. Gun is likely unissued w/ the wrapped mag.
