Vis Radom P35 - Looking for feedback

This Radom came up locally and having trouble placing a value, hoping some can shed details. 7XXX C block with slotted grip. Original mag and no import marks, all serials match with the exception of the barrel. Guy is asking $1400, obviously if the barrel matched this is a no-brained but curious how much a non-match barrel really brings down the value.

I would say that it would be similar to the devaluation of a non matching K-98.
It is a pretty mint example but $1400 is just too much in my mind.

Pass. Life is too short to own a gun like this with a mismatched barrel. If it was super early, or super late, maybe. But not this unless you can get it much cheaper.

Thank you both for your feedback, I thought it was high too but wanted to be sure before I insulted someone. What do you think a “fair” price would be for it? I was thinking more like $1100

the previous owner or owners fired this pistol and the mismatched barrel is probably because the previous owner along the way probably used P+ ammo. like posted above move on

Thank you all for the feedback, really working to find a STEN but have always loved the look of the Radoms. I’ll take your advice and move on, focus on the grand prize.

You can find a nicer example and matching, depends on what you want. That one worries me a bit on finish too. The polish before finish is worse than a C first block should have IMO. Could be the pics but it has issues regardless. 1100 is a safer bet but I would keep on looking even if I ended up with a type 3. Good luck.

Thanks again all for the feedback, going to focus on the STEN and cross my finger’s the VIS level off in price. Around 2015/2016 I passed on a matching Pre-war Radom for $800, retrospectively looking that was a mistake ha

Like all the others, value is always up to the seller and if the potential buyer decides to pay it.
For me, my .02 is it’s too high of a price.
I think the finish might be ok, it’s tough sometimes to tell from the pics.
I’m not sure what serial # block they stopped the slotted back strap but
On the inside I have noticed that the back strap was numbered to the pistol
Early, with or without a stock slot.
...I have never seen an original stock, not sayin they might not be out there.

So it might be worth knowin if the back strap was matched or not.

To the best of my knowledge, none issued with a wood stock. Only a few prototypes made production. There were a few very high quality repros made at some point and they are expensive.

Waiting for the prices of the VIS going down will almost certainly be an error. They have gone up at times and jumped up at others. Down, I do not recall. If I put one on my table at a show it is the most examined and handled pistol I put out.
