Really great looking piece and certainly one any collector would love. Congrats!

Incredible rifle and if Im thinking correctly those cleaning rods are not easy to find! Nice it has them!

Overall condition is quite impressive!
A noob question, but since they went to the trouble of putting cleaning rods in the butt, why was it made with the traditional rod up front? (I wonder the same about K98k, if you’re using the RG34 to clean it, then ‘why bother’ with the original steel rod set up?) Just curious.

It is not really a traditional rod. An original Vz33 rod is not threaded at the bulb end so the rods cannot be joined.

So then even more so, why drill the stocks, place for the nut, if the nut & rod serve no purpose? I realize that the rods were sometimes used for stacking, but better stacking rods were made & used by some countries……
I guess you can tell that I’m from ‘function junction’, not that decoration isn’t a function, just seems an odd feature to retain, at some expense in time & materials. We all know the Germans were crazy & did all kinds of illogical things, I didn’t realize that it might have been contagious……..
