Wow, this guy is a real piece of work. You want a straight answer. Here it is. YES, there are sniper authentication experts here that literally write the books and/have researched all the trends and documentation.
Now the question is, will you post pics so the people who know their stuff can authenticate or will you beat around your entitled bush?
Im sorry, but it seems you want help with conditions, it doesn’t work like that… either post pics and take the results of the outcome or do your research and private message the “sniper experts”. We have plenty here that are accredited in identifying real vs fake. A 30 year collection means nothing when it comes to k98k snipers since out of 100 examples, 99 are fake.
No-one has answered my question. Is there anyone who letters or can provide info on a sniper rifle, that has a reputable following?
“I have found many German /axis collectors who will say your "whatever is inferior" and if not in the book, or outta the norm= fake , whatever!
Please advise!”
And… do you prefer people who know their stuff, have made a career out of this to lie to you?? So that your ego can feel better? if it’s out of the norm, doesn’t follow the documented trends, the serializing is off, if the mount is a repro, then it’s a fake. German WW2 weapons did not go through “whatever goes” policy. Sniper rifles even less so and since you’re talking JP Sauer HT, it’s fully recognized. Even extremely late war weapons like the vk98 are thoroughly documented in regards to their production/assembly. We literally have official German documents that verify subcontractor and supply chain anomalies which result in scarce or rare rifle variations. The issue is that people who don’t understand these FACTS end up but-hurt because they buy the story, not the rifle. Every couple of weeks somebody new goes through this scenario on this forum. They pay a ton of money, believed the BS and then find out that it’s not out of the norm, it’s actually a fake/forgery.
