This beautiful rifle came to Norway during the war and never left. It is a well preserved attic find from Norway!

Here is another one of my Mauser K98k rifles. This one is straight out of the woodwork. It was found in an attic in Norway a few years ago and has not yet been
thoroughly cleaned. What may look like rust in the photos is, in most cases, just old oil and grease. The rifle is a 100% matching Borsigwalde (code 243) K98k,
manufactured in 1940. It has both Kriegsmarine and Nordsee markings, and has an extremely low c-block serial number, number 5. It features a beautiful
deep red-brown stained laminated stock and retains its original dark blued finish on all the metal parts.

BASIC RIFLE DETAILS:
  • Manufacturer: Mauser Borsigwalde (243)
  • Production Year: 1940
  • Serial Number: 5 (c-block)
  • Barrel Code: 300 39 RU
  • Waffenamt: WaA 26
  • Finish: Original dark blued finish
  • Stock: Original deep red-brown stained laminated stock
  • Buttplate: Early flat type
  • Matching Numbers: 100%
  • Special Markings: Kriegsmarine (Eagle with M on buttstock)
  • Nordsee Number (Takedown Disc): N 26299 k
  • Other Notes: No grooves for front sight hood
It definitely needs a good clean and some light maintenance, but I wanted to share this diamond in the rough before doing any work on it. Hope you guys like it!

P.S. More detailed photos will follow shortly.

Best regards from Norway! :giggle:

The lack of wear on this rifle is incredible.

Thank you! :giggle: I guess the KM Mauser's were more prompt to rust than wear! 😅 Are there many Nordsee rifles out there?

Want to make $50? 😂

Hahaha 😅

So, I recommend no cleaning, none. Yes, there are great guns but those still untouched from 1945 are even rarer.

If there’s “bees wax” like material between the wood and the action that’s a huge positive for untouched…

Really! Well then I'm glad I did not get that far! But I should probably put a little oil on it or not? A light coat of oil to prevent rust, like Ballistol? 🤔
